HOT BANDS, SHINY BIKES AND NEW THIS YEAR…SIZZLIN’ CARS!

Four hot bands, food, beverage and merchandise vendors, contests, a bounce house and the Show Your Chrome_sm Bike and Auto Show will liven up Coulterville on August 1^st… the first Saturday of August.  All this and more are part of the 7th Annual Sultry Summer Shindig, an event that is both great fun and a fund raiser…with its initial goal of building a permanent stage within its grasp.   Coulterville Park gates open to the public at 11 am.  A $5 contribution is encouraged for all adults.  The No Borders Blues Band, the Joe Dollar Band, frankenstein59,  and Snake Oil will belt out blues, classic rock, rock-a-billy and other great sounds from 11 am ‘til 7:30  pm. 

 This year, the popular Show Your Chrome_sm contest has expanded.  It will feature an array of antique and classic cars as well as customized motorcycles.  There will be two levels of competition…competitors will choose to show their car or bike inside the park on the lawn or outside and around the park.  There will be three separate, professionally judged VIP categories: ’49 and older, ’50’s-’70’s and 1980 or newer.  Attendees will get to vote

THE STAGE PROJECT:
The Coulterville Stage Project began seven years ago when a group of community members got together and decided to raise money for Coulterville and surrounding areas by hosting fun events in town.  Their hard work has raised funds for local children, the volunteer fire department, the Telegraph fire victims as well as other organizations with a similar vision.  The group also decided that a stage would be a great way to host future Coulterville events and bring more traffic to the historic town.  The stage will be open for the public to use and may be used for such events as school graduations, Veterans' ceremonies or musical and theatrical events.  After years of raising money through the annual Sultry Summer Shindig, the stage has finally become a reality.  The stage is currently in the planning stage thanks to all of the volunteers that have given their time and donations over the years.  If you would like to volunteer at this great rock and blues event, call Peter at 209-878-3471.  If you would like to make a donation or sponsor part of this event while promoting your business, check out our 'Be a Sponsor' link.
